The 2022 Belle Reve Yates Family Vineyard Viognier is sourced from a single vineyard high on the top of Mount Veeder. With a warmer growing season, this wine shows off ripe pear and apricot flavors. Medium bodied, showing weight on the midpalate, the ripe pear notes coat your mouth, with a clean, lively finish.
The 2022 growing season started early with bud break occurring about two weeks earlier than normal. This was the third drought year in a row, with well levels well below average. The summer saw only a couple of heat spikes in June, leading to a consistent, warm August. With an early bud break, and consistent growing phase, the fruit reached full maturity and was picked over night, on September 9th. The Belle Reve Viognier comes from two blocks on Yates Family Vineyard near the top of Mount Veeder.
