Winemaker Notes

The 2024 Bliss Rutherford Sauvignon Blanc is a great expression of the wonderful growing season we experienced. With 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon in the blend, it is a true Bordeaux blend. The fruit was sourced from the heart of Rutherford. Aged primarily in neutral French oak barrels, the wine was stirred on a regular basis, incorporating the weight of the lees on the midpalate. Showing more weight on the palate than previous years, you are treated to melon and tropical notes on the nose, with zesty grapefruit and tropical fruit on the palate. Finishes clean making it a wonder wine to serve with food.

Harvest Notes

The 2024 growing season was a nice follow on to 2023. The temperatures were warm, and consistent, with very few heat spikes. With bud break arriving early, we ended up harvesting about a week earlier than normal. Following on from the pleasant summer weather, we were able to harvest this vineyard, at night, early on August 27th.
