Eminence Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon

2013 Eminence Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon

2013 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes

The 2013 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and 4% Malbec.  This wine shows a deep ruby/purple color, with an immense power just waiting to jump from the glass. Blackberries, cassis and Asian spice aromas fill your glass. Full-bodied, this wine is so balanced that the backbone of tannin is blanketed by mouth-coating fresh black fruits. A fresh finish keeps your palate clean, begging for more.

Reviews

92 points - James Suckling
Chewy and rick red with currant and bery character. Velvety texture. Full body. Needs time to come together. Better in 2019.
90 points - Robert Parker/The Wine Advocate
The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Eminence, 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot, 4% Malbec aged 22 months in three-fourth new French Oak, has a rich, cassis fruit, blueberries, and impressive purity, medium to full-bodied texture, well-crafted style and a long finish. Drink it over the next 12-18+ years.

Harvest Notes

The 2013 harvest was very similar to 2012, both being the harvest that growers dream about. With bright sunshine through flowering and fruit set, followed by a warm and sunny summer, the vines were loaded with healthy and abundant clusters heading into veraison. The fruit for the 2013 Bougetz Cellars Eminence Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from Stagecoach Vineyard up on Pritchard Hill and Reverence Vineyard in the Coombsville AVA. Beautiful weather through September and October allowed the fruit to mature evenly on the vine.
