Eminence Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon

2014 Eminence Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon

2014 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

Winemaker Notes

The 2014 Eminence Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot.  This wine shows a deep ruby/purple color, with an immense power just waiting to jump from the glass. Blackberries, cassis and cooking spice aromas fill your glass. This is a full-bodied wine, showing a nice balance between the soft, approachable tannins and the mouth-coating fresh black fruits. A fresh finish keeps your palate clean, begging for more.

Reviews

92+ points - Robert Parker/The Wine Advocate
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Eminence is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Petit Verdot. This wine plays it slightly closer to the vest. It has an impressively saturated black/purple/bluish color, blackberry and cassis fruit, licorice and graphite, but loads of tannin, a full-bodied mouthfeel and seems to be a more long-distance runner than it s siblings. Forget it for 2-3 years and drink it over the following 15-20.

Harvest Notes

2014 was the third stellar growing season in a row for the Napa Valley. It started out about 2 weeks ahead of normal. With warm, sunny weather and almost no rain through the summer, the vines got through the flowering and fruit set stages loaded with healthy and abundant clusters heading into veraison. The fruit for the 2014 Bougetz Cellars Eminence Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from Caldwell Vineyard in Coombsville and a Pritchard Hill block on Stagecoach Vineyard.
