Winemaker Notes

The 2019 Jovana Mt Veeder Merlot/Cabernet Franc is a blend of 65% Merlot and 35% Cabernet Franc, All the fruit came from Yates Family Vineyard, high upon Mt Veeder. Showing dark ruby color, fresh blueberries, black cherries, and cedar notes leap from the glass. The inviting nose is followed with a broad, juicy mid-palate that is kept in check with a fresh, clean finish. Very pleasing now but will show even better with two to four years of cellaring.

Harvest Notes

The 2019 growing season was seeded with some Spring rain that helped keep everything green until Memorial Day. We had a heat spike in June, and one more in August, but other than that we were treated to relatively nice weather, with cool mornings, leading to warm afternoons. Harvest was completed in one day, picking early in the morning on October 16^th.
