parched. Chardonnay

2022 parched. Chardonnay

Winemaker Notes

The 2022 parched. Chardonnay is a single vineyard wine originating from the Kent Vineyard in the Russian River Valley AVA. The vineyard is covered in fog most of the morning allowing for a slow, consistent ripening, while retaining its freshness. Aromas of lemon and apple drape a nice minerality at its core. There is weight to the mid-palate, as this wine is aged entirely in French Oak for 10 months. This wine shows a balanced finish with the acidity cloaked in a fresh, focused lemon and apple layer. Great with food.

Harvest Notes

The 2022 growing season started early with bud break occurring about two weeks earlier than normal. This was the third drought year in a row, with well levels well below average. The summer saw only a couple of heat spikes in June, leading to a consistent, warm August and early September harvest. The vineyard, with its’ influence from the ocean, matured slowly, until we harvested it at night on August 27th and September 12th.
