Winemaker Notes

The 2020 Prominence Napa Valley Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon blended with 3% Merlot. Only the best barrels, selected in a blind tasting from our Cabernet Sauvignon sources, make it into this wine. This vintage, 62% came off our Spring Mountain vineyard, with the remaining 38% from Rutherford. This reserve wine was aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months. This wine offers up a combination of power and structure exhibited by this high elevation source, showing dark black cherry and cassis aromas, blanketed with spice and nutty notes. Full-bodied, this wine shows a veil of tannin layered on the juicy blackberry flavors. A fresh finish keeps this wine clean and tantalizing your palate.

Harvest Notes

The 2020 growing season went from hope and excitement, to literally crash and burn. Timing was everything with the 2020 harvest. When budbreak occurred around the end of February, we were blessed with warm days and clear skies. The growing season was moving along perfectly until the first of two fires hit the Napa Valley. Vineyards in the eastern part of Napa were most affected. Luckily we were able to harvest this fruit before the fires, on September 14th.
